These are my first attempts in photoshop. Im hopeing through out a few months, my knowledge of this program will increase as well as my artistic views on how to create. Going from photoshop from Fireworks , has me kind of confused on how to use this program but im more then sure I will get the hang of it ~^

i started out making large pieces/wallpapers also. It actually is a lot easier than making a sig imo, but sometimes, with such a large canvas you have to put a lot more creativity into it than you do with a sig.

I like #4 and #5 the best. I'd be tempted to use them on mah desktop tbh.

you need to work on your blending a bit, and the manipulation of your renders/stocks as well, but overall id say you're doing a great job to be starting out. Check out some tutorials for the basics and youll be doing even better in no time.
