depth and focal are hard to understand sometimes, which means they're also difficult to explain. But I think I can find something that makes it quite easy to understand.
Controlling Depth of FieldImagine you're looking at a picture of a girl or something and you see her clearly, but the background is a little blurry. That's depth, emphasis on your focal (the girl) and putting less emphasis on the background. The pictures in that link I pasted make it a little easier to understand. The article also has some helpful hints for mastering depth of field, however, I normally just use the blur and sharpen tool b/c I don't like to blur the entire background. Only some parts.
P.S. Anyone that has a talent at GFX goes on cravers hitlist. Which means he wants to take us down
It's just an imaginary list that he keeps in his head.
