Well, I got the random inspiration to do a Jet signature. I really just need some finishing touch ideas. Should I add some text? What could it use? Maybe it doesn't need this or that? CnC please!?

I have two versions. One with a blurred bg to create a depth kind of feel, and one without.

I was thinking of doing some cloud brushes, to give it a flying in the sky kind of feel..? x_x

i like this, however, the nose of the jet should be associated more with the focal and the rear should be blended, as you have. i think its just the positioning of the focal that's throwing me off. you could use a sky stock and it would most likely look great btw. post your results when u finish up

This is very cool! I think I like the first one a bit better, but if you were going for an "in motion" look, I think "motion blur" would have been a bit bettar. I'm a bit iffy on the scan lines, and you might have even smudged the c4d in some way, to make it look like (exhaust? I dunno'. Teh word escapes me atm.) was blasting out of the back of the jet...and that sounded retarded. >___>! . Also that c4d on the bottom right corner makes it look like teh jet is about to crash. >_>

Thanks for the feedback! I moved the jet towards the center, added some brush effects and a cloud stock (though it may be hard to see).

I can't figure out what to do with the text though! Any ideas? I don't want to do anything simplistic like blur or opacity reduction :[

Cool, Ari! The text is a little large, though. I'd dumb it down a bit, but as for effects...you could change it's blending option or maybe make it into a clipping mask. Also, killer lightsource, imo.

Lol, the light source is actually just part of a C4D and the gradient I used for the first background. >:3

i like it! maybe you could make the lighting a little more.... dramatic? i can't figure out the word.... but using gradiants/ soft light to make the lighting more defined. this is so improved from where you started!

I like this sig alot.. However I personally find the tiny arrows a tad distracting. Just a suggestion, you can choose not to use it, maybe instead use 3 plain larger longer arrows opacity lowered near the bottom left? Pointing in the same direction.. Or use them behind the text in gradiating height with some thin straight lines to increase the "tech" feel..

Agree about the lighting; I think an increase in the overall contrast of the image would be nice as it helps bring out the focal point.

Interesting. What the others are saying about lighting, I think that might be achieved if you put a B&W gradient mape and set it to overlay, I believe. Lawl, good eye, Momok...or maybe I'm just blind. <___<! I didn't even notice the arrows. I think I might have left those out completely,tbh. Your latest version is still great though, Ari!

craver, i suggested using a gradent map... and momok brought up a good point too, never saw the arrows.... but now that i do, i think you should try momok's suggestion and just see how it looks. gj btw!
