Ok we started off strong. We got over 30 members in a week. That's excellent in my opinion, however, we need more. Imagine the kinds of battles, SOTWs, LP battles we can have if we had more members; not to mention the contributions to our resource section. So we're going to have a contest.

You design the ad.

It should be no larger than 500x500.

It needs sexy text that says how great Lucid is and it should be persausive so that people want to join immediately. Keep in mind you don't have to include all of the text on the actual image.

For example, take a look at our forum header. It's simple, but you do need to actually write the ad to go with your entry. Focus on how we're here for fun and to learn and it's not srs business. You know what you look for in a forum. Find ways to express that through all the creativity that I've seen from you all thus far.

I'll give you guys til Saturday at 4:00pm to submit all of your entries. You can send them to me by pm. Once I get them all I'll make a thread in the contests category so that we can all vote on it.

That's not all, so far I've decided that the winner gets their name changed to the color of his or her choice. Not only that you get 5 rep points for winning.
And a special tag to wear in your sig stating that you won the ad contest for March. If you guys like this, we can make it a contest that we do every 3 months. Once the three months are up you resign your name color and the next winner gets it, leave feedback on that, if you like it.

Administrators, you're exempt from this contest. I want the members to design the ad. I think it speaks to their feelings on the website so far. Other staff can participate if they'd like to do so.

You can also vote for yourself This isn't your typical SOTW type contest. I want the best ad we can get from you guys. Don't keep yourself out of this just because you don't think you're good enough either. This is a GFX forum for beginners and while I don't want something that looks horrible, you don't have to be uber to win this. I might pick it just because the ad had charisma.

lawl, I think I can speak for all of the administrators that we would love for all the members to participate, we can do ads any time, since its our jobs to make things look great for everyone else, so i am very happy with this contest, i cant wait to see those ads!

don't forget you can post feedback here concerning the contest. it isn't too late to change the rules. i'm satisfied with it, for the most part, but I'm always open to suggestions.
