I had been ausent for a while, but I had return with a new tutorial to show you how to add border efects to your avatars and sigs like this:

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia.gif)

------------------------------------------------------

Programs Required:

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Imageready

1)First let's make our Avatar or Signature as usual, I made this avatar out of Millia Rage from the videogame Guilty Gear

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia1.jpg)

2) Create a new layer and in that layer add a border, remember that to add a border, you must simply select the layer and clicl Ctrl + A, then go to Edit/ Stroke, I put my border with a length of 3 px.
NOTE: It's important that you made your border into a new layer!

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia2.jpg)

3) Create a new layer over the border layer and fill it with the border color, remember, over the border layer

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia3.jpg)

4) Select the Gradient tool and set it to the properities that I marked in the image below (Of course, you may chose another color)

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia4.jpg)

5) Create a little circle with the gradien tool in the same layer you filled it with the border color

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia5.jpg)

6) Now here comes the complicated, hold the Alt button in your border and put the cursor between the Border layer and the layer you created over it and make a clic on it with the cursor's arrow turn into 2 circles

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia6.jpg)

7) If you made it well, the layer at the top will turn into a mask and the layer should show you a little arrow like the marked in the image below, move the layer until you find the little circle who now must be only visible in the border

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia7.jpg)

8)Now click "Go to Image Ready"

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Souseiseki6.jpg)

9) In the animation bar, move the circle to one of the corners, set the frame with 0 secs and duplicate it, in this new frame, move the circle to the nextc corne, hold Ctrl and click on both frames and click on the "Tweens animation frames " marked in the image below, set the "frames to add" option to 5

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia8.jpg)

10) Click in the last frame and duplicate it with the "Duplicate current frame" button marked in the image below, in this ne layer move the circle to the next corner and repeat the proces in step 9, then again until the cirlce had returned to the first corner

(IMG:http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk86/EvilRick/Millia9.jpg)

11) As always, you can add a text at the end

12) File/ Save Optimized or Save Optimized as...

Here you go! Your border efect is ready :)
