General Board Rules
Ok, first off, thanks for joining the forum. The more people we have, the better the forum becomes. That being said, since we're dealing with GFX there are a few things you should know.

General Rules

1. You cannot, under any circumstances, redistribute or rip someones work and try to pass it off as your own. This is a perm ban offense. This includes, packs, sigs, LPs, tutorials, PSD's, renders, fonts, brushes, gradients, and whatever else you can imagine. This is absolutely against the rules. If you do redistribute you must link to the original work and have the explicit permission of the original artist.

2. Do not post copyrighted images or use images that you know are copyrighted in your work. LucidGFX is not responsible for any copyright infringement that our members may partake in. Please remember to check carefully for infringement and make sure to follow this rule. This is also a bannable offense.

3. You can be critical of others work, but do not flame anyone over their GFX skills. This is a beginners forum and people are here to enhance their skills. Constructive criticism is the best option for helping someone improve. If you are caught flaming other members for this reason you will be warned. You may be warned up to five times before you are banned, however, the staff reserves the right to ban you at their discretion. If you are banned for flaming and you feel it was unfair you may post in the court thread. At which point the staff will review your complaint and make a final decision.

4. Do not bump threads with words like 'thx', 'that's cool', 'awesome', etc just to increase your post count. If you have something to say in response, make sure it's on topic and not spam. We have an area for spam. Do it there.

5. No racist content or propaganda please. Respect other members individuality or keep your mouth shut.

6. Remember, you're responsible for what you post. If it breaks laws of any kind it will be removed without warning. This includes, but is not limited to, images of a sexual nature, copyright infringement, or any other violation of US law.

General GFX Contest Rules

If you vote in any contest you must state the reason why you're voting or your vote does not count and will be removed from the poll by a moderator.

Acceptable Reasons: The sig has good flow and great lighting. The text is superior to the other sigs and the whole thing is blended well.

Unacceptable Reasons:
-I love this character!
-Ooo This stock is pretty!
-John is my friend, I vote for his.
-#7 got my vote, it's the best.

Remember, if you don't offer feedback people can't improve.

Most contests will have guidelines and themes. If your entry doesn't adhere to the theme or breaks the rules of the contest, it will be removed.

-Each entry, unless otherwise stated, must be original and made especially for the contest.

-Do not show people your entry prior to entering the contest.

-Do not vote for yourself, the vote and your entry will be removed.

-Don't tell people to vote for you. This is unfair to other members and also reveals which entry is yours. This is against the rules. If you're caught doing this, any member of the staff reserves the right to warn you and remove your entry from the contest.

Deviant Art-Be careful when using images from deviant art. Check the copyright information, don't use or repost these images without following the guidelines of the artist. Don't always trust an image you get in a pack. People that make packs don't always check to see if the image is copyright.

Learning Rights (LR)- This is when another member allows you to use one of their resources in order to help you enhance your gfx skills. This means that you cannot claim it as your own. You can't rip layers from their PSD file and claim it as your own. If you're caught doing this it will result in a ban.

Wearing Rights (WR)- This is when another member gives you permission to wear or put their sig in your signature area. You must give the creator credit in your signature. You can't claim it as your own.

Posting Rules

Spam:
Please don’t spam. We are not going to go all hardcore “Spam and get banned!” on you. You can’t have fun worrying about some giant guy behind you with a ban stick, or this case spoon.
-If you are caught spamming, posts with be deleted and the person will be warned and reminded to not spam via private message.
-If it is a continuous reoccurrence where I or one of my mods have to remind you to not spam then you will be infracted.
-If you go out of control and spam everything and its mother then there is a possibility you will be banned but I doubt it will have to come to that.
We do ask that each post has a minimum of five words unless in the spam section. If it has less than five words it will most likely be deleted.

Flaming:
Do not flame. Be courteous to your fellow members. They are here to learn and improve their gfx skills. If you go “wow man your stuff is terrible you should just give up!”
I will not tolerate that. You will be infracted. End of discussion.

Flaming not only for gfx skills but for
-sexual preference
-skin color
-personal beliefs
Will also not be tolerated.

Signature size:
The size of the signature is not fretted over much but we do ask you to keep the amount of signatures to a limit of two.
As of now, the spoilers only turn text white so you have to scroll over it to see so no signatures can be kept in spoilers.

This a GFX Forum, often times we infringe on copyrights more often than we think. Please be courteous to fellow GFX’ers when you’re posting. If you post a link to another forum or website, that’s fine; we all know the source. If you post the actual files from another artist or website, you need to insure that you have the proper permission to do so and that you give them credit within the post. Please respect this rule, Lucid GFX is not responsible for your posts, you are.

Thanks for reading the rules.

Credit to Ankh13 for helping me write them.

The rules can change at anytime. Keep an eye out for changes and respect the staff. They have my complete support.
